Locally Grown History - Welcome to Locally Grown History! Join us and celebrate our region's
rich heritage.
WHEN: From May 30th through early October, residents and vistors are invited to enjoy the historical
and agriculatural treasures found in our region's backyard.
WHO: Locally Grown History is a collaborative project
that seeks to highlight and promote our region's historical resources in engaging and coordinated ways. Our focus is on
connecting historical communities, history enthisiasts and vistors as well as cultural and agricultural entities.
WHY: Historical Societies and Museums as well as farms, orchards and vineyards and important because may have historic significance
and add to the enjoyment of the northwest corner of Connecticut. We believe that our historic sites have something for almost
every interest and, when partnered with a visit to farms and agricutlrual sites, provide residents and vistors alike with
the perfect outing - without traveling far and wide.
WHERE: 48 towns in Northwest Connecticut are included in Locally
Grown History. A project map , with an integrated History Hunt "passport" will be available on our website and at
all of the participating locations.
